I took this rose from a cutting

This rose was from my grandmother’s house. I took 7 cuttings, and 2 have grown into lovely, healthy plants. Now a nice bloom!

ANTS!!

Ants are my least favorite menace to lighting. This fixture is full of FIRE ANTS and the dirt they mounded into it. BLAH!!

Yes, I got them out of there. Please use Andro Fire Ant killer if you see anything like this.

We’re heading to Bay Flats Lodge to learn about the new FX LED lighting. On the way we stopped for BBQ and John used the “Sissy Sauce.” Craig can’t quite tell how to get all this beer into one cooler! Finally we get to the lodge. It’s wonderful!

Alex is soldering the connections. Then we cap it with a silicone filled direct burial wire nut for THE BEST electrical connection possible. We work hard to be sure that everything about the lighting installation is top quality!

Maintenance is important to keep your lighting system at its best

We love installing new landscape lighting systems, and we work all over the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex.
But I think I enjoy keeping the systems maintained almost as much as seeing the new fixtures going in.
Maintenance is so important to keeping your lighting system looking and performing at its best.

Alex is cleaning and re-lamping the fixtures, trimming the foliage around them, and testing the voltage at each fixture to make sure everything is perfect for the long beautiful Texas summer nights!

Lighting Nature

On a recent trip to Natural Bridge Caverns, near San Antonio, Texas, I had the opportunity to visit with several exceptional lighting designers, and see – in person, one of nature’s wonders. Part of the excitement of the private “Illuminations” tour was hearing the interesting stories associated with the cavern and its discovery. We were also graced with a visit from the tiny resident bats, but the most exhilarating was the moment all the lights went out. We were seated, facing what was suddenly revealed in a luminous glow – the translucent flowstone, lit professionally by completely hidden fixtures. The effect was simply spectacular.
