Path Light and Pansies

It’s nice – in the winter – to see the pretty colors of pansies out in the chilly garden beds. With a little accent lighting, you can enjoy looking at the color, even at night. We chose this beautifully sculpted Kichler path and area light to enhance this bed of pansies in Castle Hills, Lewisville, TX.

Why Light?

Before knowing “How to Light” we must determine, “Why Light?”

I’m a lighting designer. I started in the theater, did some experimental art pieces, now I enjoy landscape lighting.
As I ponder my subject, I go through the same process each time.

• Define the true objective: beauty, safety/security
• Define how the space is to be used: walkway, seating, dining, children/pets play area
• Define the features to be enhanced or de-emphasized: create focus and transitions

It’s my birthday. Don’t ask… I always lie about my age.
